We have seen a huge increase in customers asking for decorative concrete work.  Everything from stained floors to concrete counter tops and stamped concrete.  Applications can be applied to both new and old concrete. 

The concrete industry has been making huge steps not only reducing decorative concrete costs, but also making for practical instillations.  The added beauty and value decorative concrete can add to your house or business is now much easier, and in many instances competitive with some more commonly used instillations.

Of the three types of decorative concrete work, staining is the most cost effective when compared to traditional floorings or other applications.  When done right, there is very little mess and the procedure only takes days.  Staining is commonly used on floors and counter tops but can be used on just about any cementatious surface.  Once the surface is sealed it is very durable and requires miminal maitenace.  Below are some common stain colors.

In addition to stained floors, concrete counter tops and some types of concrete furniture have become popular.  One advantage over other counter tops is concrete is very easy to shape into whatever design can be imagined.  

Concrete counter tops are typically more expensive than conventional countertops but can offer a much broader range of selection in terms of color, shape and style.  The larger the counter top and more elaborate the more expensive.  They can be poured in place or off site.  Many people prefer them poured off site to control the mess.  Once a design and color is selected the project typically needs 3 or 4 weeks depending on the job size. 

Colors can be added directly to the concrete or it can be stained afterwards.  Some customers have also added shells or other artifacts to make their counter top more personal.  The counter tops are finished with a food safe sealer, which range in a low gloss to high gloss finish depending on individual preference.
